Easy to assemble, portable, and incredibly easy to use, the Mini Tire Changer is ideal for parents of young dirt bike riders, and it also works for pit bikes, scooters, mopeds, and other small two-wheeled machines.

Which Rabaconda to Choose?

On the surface, it’s an easy choice: if you have a dirt, dual-sport, motocross, or enduro bike, you should opt for the Dirt Bike Tire Changer. If you own a street, touring, cruiser, sport touring, sport, or adventure motorcycle, the Street Bike Tire Changer is your best bet. Finally, the Mini Tire Changer is perfect for kids’ dirt bikes, scooters, and mopeds.

However, there are a few nuances to consider. Plenty of different bike make and model features overlap in some ways, and riders often ask us whether they can use the Street Bike Tire Changer for their dirt bikes and vice versa, or whether a specific tire-changing tool will work for their specific wheel type.

Here’s what you need to consider:

• Rim locks. If your wheels have rim locks, it’s best to opt for the Dirt Bike Tire Changer. It’s technically possible to change tires on wheels with rim locks with the Street Bike Tire Changer, but it’ll be a struggle (we know - we’ve tested it out!).
• Tubeless tires. If you run tubeless, opt for the Street Bike Tire Changer: you won’t be using tire irons, and you’ll pop those tubeless tires on and off with ease using just the tire changer.
• Bib mousses. If you run mousse inserts, choose the Dirt Bike Tire Changer: you’ll need to use tire irons, and the plastic duck head of the Street Bike Tire Changer just won’t work for bib mousse setups.
• Rim protection. While dirt bike wheels get blasted with sand, gravel, and rocks, protecting street bike rims from scratching is essential. For this, the Street Bike Tire Changer is the best tool - the plastic duck head minimizes the risk of rim damage, whereas when you work with the Dirt Bike Tire Changer and tire irons, preventing rim scratches is a much tougher job.
• Can the Dirt Bike Tire Changer work for street bikes? In some cases, yes, but bear in mind that the Street Bike Tire Changer is developed specifically for street motorcycles for several reasons. First off, the design is aimed to minimize rim damage while changing tires. Next, the tool is designed to accommodate cast wheels, while the Dirt Bike Tire Changer is designed for spoked wheels.
• Can the Street Bike Tire Changer work for dirt bikes? Again, there’s some overlap (for example, some adventure bikes are very similar to dirt or enduro bikes in terms of spoked wheels); however, if you run bib mousses, changing your dirt tires with the Street Bike Tire Changer will be a struggle.
• Is the Street Bike Tire Changer meant for sport bikes only? No! Under the “street” category, we also mean Harley-Davidson motorcycles, cruisers, scramblers, cafe racers, commuter bikes, adventure motorcycles, vintage motorcycles, and touring bikes. In other words, if your bike isn’t aimed at dirt riding, the Street Bike Tire Changer is the ideal solution for you.
• Do I need the Ultimate Street Bike Tire Changer Kit? Not necessarily; if you own one motorcycle or several bikes of the same type, the Street Bike Tire Changer alone should have you covered. However, if you own a fleet of different motorcycles, or if you and your friends are considering investing in a tire changer together to swap tires on different bikes, the Ultimate Kit is an ideal choice.
• Is the Mini Tire Changer for kids’ bikes only? While the Mini Tire Changer is designed specifically for kids’ 50cc, 65cc, and 85cc dirt bikes, it also works for pit bikes, scooters, mopeds, and other small bikes with 10-14” tires (extending up to 17” tires) with axle sizes ranging from 10-24mm.
