Charlie Mullins started to ride at the age of 4 on a PW50 to join his dad on the trails. "Hot Rod" grew up to become one of the fastest and most talented riders in the GNCC. In 2011, he won the GNCC and was chosen the GNCC Rider Of the Year. Check our Q&A with him below:

How did you get started in riding?

I started riding when I was four years old. My dad got me a pw50 and I grew up riding trails with him.

What do you do when you aren't riding? What are your hobbies?

I enjoy mountain biking, running, swimming. My favorite hobby is stand up jet skis.

What do you do in the off-season?

There really is much of an off season between two series, six days, testing etc. I enjoy staying busy but when I do have a little down time I enjoy spending it with my wife and kids.

Do you have any pre-race rituals?

Only thing I really do is put all my right side first when getting geared up.

Where's your favorite place to ride? Your favorite track?

Anywhere there's a good sand track. My favorite track is the ironman GNCC. What was your best moment as a pro rider?

Winning the GNCC championship.

What are your riding goals?

I'm currently out with double wrist injuries. My new goal is to get healed up and be competitive fighting for race wins again.

What is your advice for those just starting out?

Taking it easy and don't force the issue. Let it come to you. F
