The story
It all started back in 1995, when one of the key persons for Finnish enduro success in the world - Kaj Ek (Finnish Motorcycle Associatoin) - asked Pertti Ahonen, father of a young local rider, to develop a mousse tire changer for Finnish Trophy Team for International Six Days of Enduro that took place in Finland 1996. It was critical for Finns not to betray their nation and become world champions in their home country. For Pertti Ahonen it was an intriguing challenge. Together with his son Tuomas Ahonen and another friend they welded together the very first prototype of what is today Rabaconda Mousse Tire Changer. Product was first tested in ISDE training camp in Jämsä. First rider to change a mousse tire with that invention was 7 times world champion Kari Tiainen. His judgment: “This can change a mousse tire!”. Finnish Motorcycle Association ordered from Pertti Ahonen another 6 copies to be used on 1996 ISDE in Finland. The very same year Finnish Trophy Team took the overall world championship win. There must have been something magic done by Pertti Ahonen back then...
In 2011, 16 years later Finnish Trophy Team was again worlds best, as they won the ISDE in Finland. And they used mousse tire changers created by Pertti Ahonen back in 1995 and modified and developed constantly by riders and their mechanics. After more than dozens of people contributing to the development, Rabaconda community has launched its first co-created product.
