Rabaconda Rider Jérémy Joly [Q&A]

érémy Joly won the 2011 Enduro Junior Championship. Since then he has been climbing through the senior ranks in EWC E3 and ISDE to become one of the top French riders.

How did you get started in riding?

My father and brother were riding… I started riding with them because I wanted to be like them.

What do you do when you aren’t riding?

When I am not riding on my bike, I work on my physical condition and train with my riding partners. I also take care of administrative paperwork. Between races, I focus on having the best recovery.

What are your hobbies?

I spend little time at home, so when I’m there, I’m with my fiancé and we go out with friends.

What do you do in the off-season?

During the off-season I try to prepare for the following season in order to be in the best condition. I work at my house or on some private projects. My goal is to have an easy and simple life so I can be more focused on the competition.

Do you have any pre-race rituals?

I do some physical starters before the start of the day to be ready.

Who is your mechanic?

My mechanic is Michel, and we began working together before the GP of Belgium. He works well, and races are more simple with him.

Where’s your favorite place to ride?

I live in the south of France, but I like riding races in the center of France. There are many places for enjoying enduro riding.

Your favorite track?

I really like muddy conditions. It’s strange because around my home the ground is really dry!

What was your best moment as a pro rider?

When I won my first GP in France. It was awesome! It was the first victory for me and Sherco. My junior title also was amazing! It was a wonderful moment. I got the title on the last day of the world championship during the French GP.

What are your riding goals?

To be better and faster. Step by step.

What is your advice for those just starting out?

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

What’s the most memorable DNF have you ever had?

For sure it was my crash last season in Brioude for the GP of France. I fought for the podium of the championship. Such bad and painful memories.

Why did you choose Rabaconda 3-Minute Mousse Changer?
Because Rabaconda is simply the best for changing my tires. I just need a small bag to put it inside, during training or time check, you can change your tires very quickly.
